Paul Daniels....dedication....

While in Winter Harbour with heavy heart we found out the sad news that my father-in-law Paul Daniels passed away July 11th from a 7 year struggle with lung disease. He was a man that lived life to the fullest...loved his guitar...well known for singing and playing especially to his grandchildren...they all have their very own line in one of his songs!...pancake breakfasts at the cabin, black licorice life jacket and fishing rod in hand he would head out in his small fishing boat on Burnstick Lake before anyone else was up.
Two of my fondest memories of dad is him getting up around  3:00 am with Lyndsay (one of his 10 grandchildren) when she was a baby...he tells the story how she was as happy as could be...laughing and laughing...he was bagged but enjoyed every moment of it...thank you dad...this allowed me much needed sleep....then there was the time mom and dad looked after Krysti and Lyndsay who were 4 or 5 at the time....dad did not feel comfortable with the girls playing with another girl who was older than them...Krysti was quite upset with dad and said "grandpa we need a meet" and proceeded to let him know that they were not happy with his decision... to dad's credit he listened to both girls but if I remember correctly he did not agree with their wishes...dad laughed every time he told that story...

Dad's kindness, compassion, humour, zest for life ( the lift of his knee and pump of his arm when something excited him), integrity and spirit will be greatly missed by all...

Dad loved the ocean...when I think of dad I think of calm open seas...

We love you dad and you will be greatly missed....
