Winter Harbour...Saturday July 13th

Blue An Teak did some kayaking around Browning Channel...they used the GoPro camera on Allan's paddle and got some great shots of sea stars...lots of different colours and our first sighting of a sea otter. They said the kayaking was very good.
Tried to get a shot of them kayaking, a bit dark but they are in the picture...

Silhouette and Dance Lightly joined Propinquity in Winter Harbour...Winter Harbour is our staging area before we go around Brooks Peninsula....

There is a boardwalk that expands the entire Harbour...a great fishing community.

One group caught 10 salmon 3 halibut and a few other fish that I do not know what they were.
The group pictured below caught 4 halibut and 6 snapper...

Happy guys from Vancouver....

Fish for dinner...fish story...
Not to be out done...Linda caught a small halibut and Anna caught a salmon with out even putting a hook in the water....they have the magic touch/charm...what happened to the guys???? You will have to ask Anna and Linda what their technique is...

Whales!!!!!!!
We all joined including a couple from Vancouver who are also sailing around the Island for appies on Blue An Teak. The Vancouver couple are on a 43 ft sloop centre cockpit named Good as Gold. This is there test run for going blue water sailing in September. While having appies we sighted 3 orcas swimming into the Harbour....we were all so relaxed that no one had cameras...off we went to grab our cameras...they became camera shy....settled back in and then Harvey sighted them again coming toward us...Allan was able to get a picture but no one else was...put it is etched in our minds...
The picture bellows shows where they were..

Dinner and appies were great and so was the conversation..

Just as we were all heading back to our boats a large fishing boat came in to do a crew change...this is a boat that catches Hake...codlike sea fish...

Not sure where we go tomorrow...Rick needs to make sure his boat is ready to roll...

Another great day on the Westcoast of Vancouver Island....

Good night from Circle the Rock group
